In lots of new house, we easy to find that it’s very bright when turn on all the lights. After you stay for a long time, you feel dizzy. That’s cause by misunderstanding using lights. Lights play an important in decoration. Lights set reasonable or not, can reflect the owner’s aesthetic view. Usually, the improper use of lights has the following 4 kinds of performance:
1, Make Lights too much color
Perhaps people are tired of “one house one lamp”, so when having the opportunity to use more lights in a room. Make room different appearance by lights color changes. In this way, red, green, blue or purple lights, all pour into household space. It is fine when the basis adornment color of household is white. 3, Using Strip Light
Base on the thinking of Lighting levels. But for residential space, sometimes is not appropriate. This is because the average residential architectural space is narrow and low, can not fit strip light’s requirements. So in terms of the size of space, strip light is not fit for residential using.
4, Abuse using dot light
The point light source, like spot light, down light… becomes popular in residential lighting. Spot light, down light in aggrandizement space partition and key illuminate some decorative parts, undoubtedly having positive significance. But with too much, will cause harmful to human body.

There are three kinds of Lighting Guide Plate (LGP) used in LED panel light. carving LGP, silk printing LGP and nano LGP.

Carving LGP is according to the different size, engraving on the transparent sheet of mesh grid lines. Using the refraction of grid lines produces diffuse light, making point light source to an area light source.

Silk printing LGOP is according to a certain size, printing reflective outlets on the transparent sheet. Use of printing ink dots to produce diffuse light, change point light source to the plane light source.

Carving LGP, silk printing LGP, the light points density must be according to the size. And these two technologies are difficult to make personal design. Can not be arbitrary cutting, hot bending. At the same time, must be equipped with a diffuser plate when fix in LED panel light, cannot be used double-sided.

Disadvantages: The carving, printing point or line where the visual impact is bigger, will be a little light and shade, not the exact uniform surface. Silk printed with ink dot, so there is light failure phenomenon.

Nano LGP, the making method is add the nanoscale grade light scattering particles when molding the LPG. The nanoparticles point light source or lines sources can be efficiently converted into uniform plane light source.

On the basis of the original nano plate can be arbitrary cutting, hot bending, can be double side use. Can not come with a diffuser plate. Can be made different original mold to cast light of any shape and widely applicable. But not suitable for the crystal light box, because his whole transparency not good enough.

guide plate), make the light more evenly. Its main material is PC, PMMA, PS, PP. The most
used is PS material.

temperature.
2, High transparency and free of dyeing.
3, High H.D.T. (heat distortion temperature, is refers to plastic under certain pressure,
began to deformation’s temperature.).
4, Good fatigues resistance.
5, Good weather resistance. Weather resistance refers to plastic suffer sunlight,
temperature, wind blowing, rain ect., emerge fading, discoloration, cracks, pulverization
and strength decline ect. a series of ageing phenomena. The ultraviolet radiation is the
key factor make plastic ageing).
6, Tasteless, odourless harmless to the human body, in line with the health and safety.
7, Forming shrinkage rate low, size stability is excellent.
Overall said, stability of PC is the best. Fire rating high, easy to pass the safety
certification. But PC price is quite expensive, and electrostatic is high, easy to absorb
dust in the assembling. And working time consuming cost too much (PC diffuser has
protective film on both sides, some protective film is very difficult to tear, some tore a
piece should be several minutes). The light transmittance rate of PC is relatively low. It
is about 86%.

Advantages and problem in application:
1. Acrylic plate has excellent weatherability, high surface gloss, and good high
temperature performance.
2. Cost low, cheap material and easy molding. In the early LED panel light production,
acrylic is popular.
3. Excellent printing effect. LED panel light is generally relatively simple. So if
customer has need of a large area of screen printing, first choice is acrylic.
4. The flame resistance: Won’t be spontaneous combustion.
5. High light transmittance, can reach 90%. But also trouble about it. We know that LED
panel light is backlit. High transmittance is difficult to hide speckle. It is easy appear
light spot.
6, And acrylic is double sided with protective film, easy to absorb dust, production will
cost time highly.
7. Acrylic is crisp, easy to break.

PS has a very good chemical stability, thermal stability, optical characteristics, strong
refraction, strong electrical insulating, high radiation resistance and little tendency of
moisture absorption. Which can be used in humid environment. It can resist water and dilute
mineral acids. But, at the same time, it is low impact strength, low weather resistance. If
long exposure to outdoor, appear yellow, brittle phenomenon. Its heat resistance is poor,
the deformation temperature is 70-90 °, only can be used in the environment under 70 °.
Low temperature resistant performance is not good, the embrittlement temperature was -30.
PS has many shortcomings, but use for LED panel light, its disadvantages are less obvious,
and its advantages stand out.  LED panel light is generally used in indoor, working
temperature is 20-60. Climatic influence is small.  High refractivity, will wipe off the
lightspot.  It is perfect for indoor using.
On another way, its small static electricity is good for production.  The transmission rate
is 88%, although can’t reach acrylic’s, other advantages can cover this small shortage.

It is new, need some time more to test.
1. Its toughness is admirable, same as PC’s.
2. High light transmittance, can achieve about 90%
3. Small static electricity, less dusty adsorption
4. The main shortage is soft. If we can good to control the faults, maybe will replace PS
material.

LED outdoor lighting design should comply with the latest outdoor lighting technical specification,
and the standard of urban road lighting design.
1, Working Enviroment
LED outdoor lighting, due to the working environment is poor. It will directly meet the wind blow,
the rain, the sun. And the sun ultraviolet radiation, the temperature difference between day and
night, dust. The design should fully consider the impact of these factors.
2, Material and Heat Disspation
Shell and heat sink design as a whole, which is used to solve the heat dissipation of LED, this way
is better. Generally choose aluminum or aluminum alloy, copper or copper alloy, and other alloy
thermal conductivity is good. Cooling with air convection cooling, wind cooling, heat pipe cooling.
Choose what kind of operating mode, has a direct impact on the cost of the lighting, should be
overall considered, and choose the best scheme to form a complete set of product.
Chimney design material selection is also crucial. Currently have transparent organic glass, PC
material. Traditional chimney is transparent glass. Choose what kind material of chimney associated
with design products’ positioning. In general, the chimney of outdoor lighting, the best is glass.
It is the best choice for high-grade lighting. Transparent material such as plastic, organic glass,
is good for chimney of indoor lighting. Used for outdoor life is bad. Outdoor sunlight, ultraviolet
rays, dust, chemical gas chimney aging, the change in the temperature difference between day and
night. All these factors will shorten service life. The contamination is not easy to clean, reduce
chimney transparency, and affect the light output.
3, LED Chip Package
Current LED outdoor lighting (mainly street light) is using 1 w high power LEDs in series, in
parallel to assemble. This method is of high thermal resistance is relatively advanced packaging
technology products, it is not easy to make high quality lamps and lanterns. Or it is 30 W, 50 W and
even larger modules assembled, in order to achieve the required power. These LED, package material
useful epoxy resin, use silica gel. The difference between them: Epoxy resin heat resistance is
poorer. Silica gel is good heat resistance.
Adopt the overall packaging chip and heat sink is a good choice. Or the aluminum substrate multichip
packaging, again through the phase change materials or heat dissipation silicon grease and radiator
connected. Make product heat resistance one to two way more conducive to heat dissipation than with
the LED device assembly product. Use LED module’s lighting, module substrate generally is copper

4, Heat Sink Design
Heat sink is one of the key component. Its shape, volume, heat dissipation surface area should be
designed to the point. If heat sink is too small, the LED working temperature is too high, affecting
the luminous efficiency and life span. If heat sink is too big, consumption materials more to
increase the product cost and weight, make the product competitive power. Heat sink design should
take follows into consideration.
1) Definite the nessary heat dissipation rate of LEDs.
2) Design the heat sink with some parameters: metal specific heat, coefficient of thermal
conductivity of metal, the chip thermal resistance, heat sink thermal resistance and ambient air
thermal resistance, etc.
3) Determine the type of heat dissipation, natural convection cooling, wind cooling, heat pipe
cooling, and other way of heat dissipation.) From a cost comparison: natural convection is the
lowest cost, strong breeze cooling medium, the heat pipe radiator construction cost is higher, the
jet cooling cost is the highest.
4) Determine the LED lighting highest working temperature.
5) Calculate the volume of the heat sink, heat dissipation area. And to determine the shape of the
heat sink.
6) Make complete lighting, work eight hours, at room temperature is 39 ℃ to 40 ℃ . Test it whether
meet the cooling requirements. If test calculation is not correct, cannot meet the conditions of
use, have to recalculate and adjust the parameters.
7) Heat sink and lamp chimney seal to be waterproof, dust proof. Fill anti-aging rubber or silicone
rubber mats between lamp chimney and heat sink, with stainless steel bolts, to be sealed waterproof,
dust proof.
